Mother's Side

Ekaterina’s mother, Elizaveta Ivanovna Parfionova (1933-2003), was the youngest child in a working class family.

Elizaveta's father, Ivan Ivanovich (1898-1976), was a machinery engineer at a factory in Moscow.

During World War II, Ivan Ivanovich worked at the assembly line for the T34 tanks which rolled off

the conveyor and went straight to the front.

Elizaveta’s mother, also Elizaveta Ivanovna, worked as a kitchen maid at the canteen of the same

factory, while raising the family’s three children: Ivan, María and Elizaveta.

Ekaterina’s uncle Ivan volunteered for military service aged 14 when the Soviet Union was attacked by the Nazi Germany (1941), and went through World War II as a sapper. He was gravely wounded in the last weeks of the war, losing both arms and one eye, but went on to marry, to have a son, and to serve as the president of the WWII Invalids Association of Moscow for several decades.

Ekaterina’s aunt Maria Ivanovna Parfionova (1924-1985) was a geography teacher in a Moscow school. Maria went on to become a school principle, until retirement.

Elizaveta, the youngest of the three, graduated from the Moscow Financial Institute as a certified accountant, and worked at the famous Bolshoi Theatre as their CFO. Elizaveta was a lover of opera, ballet and poetry.

Father's Side

Ekaterina’s father Vladimir Vladimirovich Soloviov (b.1941) is the son of the Hon. Tamara

von Lindener, daughter of Baron Michael von Lindener, and a descendant of Baron Friedrich

von Lindener, a German-born official at the Russian Court (1798-1803) and the favourite of

Russia’s Tzar Paul III.

Vladimir Vladimirovich is also a grandson and the sole heir to the title and the estate of his grandmother baroness Eugenia von Kriesemer of Rorschach, Switzerland, née Eugenia Kardashevic, a Polish-Ukranian noble from Lvov (now L'viv, Western Ukraine).

On his father's side, Vladimir Vladimirovich is the son of Vladimir Vasilievich Soloviov, an officer

in the Soviet Army, killed by the German forces in 1941 in the battle for Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Vladimir Vasilievich was a descendant of the Soloviov merchants dynasty, an established "Old Believers" Christian family clan.

Vladimir Vladimirovich is a scientist, an AI pioneer and a stock market investor with a PhD from the University of Moscow in Physics and Mathematical Sciences.
